Privacy Policy
This Privacy Policy describes how MenuHelper ("we," "us," or "our"), operated at https://menuhelper.in, collects, uses, and protects information when you visit our website. We are committed to protecting your privacy and handling any information we encounter with care, transparency, and in compliance with applicable law — including the Information Technology Act, 2000 and its associated rules under Indian law, and the principles of the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) for users in the European Economic Area.
Please read this Policy carefully. By using MenuHelper.in, you acknowledge that you have read and understood this Policy. If you do not agree with any part of it, please discontinue use of the website.
1 Information We Collect
We collect two categories of information when you use MenuHelper.in:
1.1 Information You Provide Directly
MenuHelper.in does not currently operate any account registration system, subscription form, or checkout process. If you choose to contact us via email (for example, at rajd3557@gmail.com), we will receive your name (if provided) and email address. We will use this information solely to respond to your enquiry and will not add you to any marketing list without your explicit consent.
1.2 Information Collected Automatically
When you visit MenuHelper.in, certain technical data is collected automatically by our hosting infrastructure and third-party services (Google Analytics and Google AdSense). This may include:
- Your Internet Protocol (IP) address (typically anonymised)
- Browser type and version
- Operating system
- Referring URL (the page you visited before arriving at our site)
- Pages visited and time spent on each page
- Date and time of your visit
- Device type (desktop, mobile, tablet)
- General geographic location (country or city level, derived from IP address)
This data is collected through cookies and tracking pixels operated by Google. We do not directly access or control this data stream — it is processed by Google in accordance with Google's own Privacy Policy.
2 Calculator Inputs — No Server Storage
✅ Your calculator data stays in your browser.
All calculations performed on MenuHelper.in — including menu prices, food costs, commission percentages, GST values, platform fees, and any other inputs entered into our tools — are processed entirely within your web browser (client-side). No input data you enter into any MenuHelper calculator is transmitted to, stored on, or processed by our servers at any point.
We operate no database that stores your calculator inputs. When you close or navigate away from the page, all input data is cleared from your browser's memory. We have no technical means of associating your calculator inputs with your identity, your device, or your IP address.
This is an architectural decision made deliberately to protect user privacy. Restaurant financial data is sensitive business information, and we believe you should be able to use our tools without any concern that your numbers are being collected or retained.
4 Google AdSense and Advertising
MenuHelper.in uses Google AdSense, a third-party advertising service provided by Google LLC, to display advertisements on our website. Google AdSense may use cookies and web beacons to collect information about your visits to this and other websites in order to serve you relevant advertisements.
Google's use of advertising cookies enables it and its partners to serve ads to you based on your visit to our site and other sites on the internet. This is commonly referred to as interest-based advertising or personalised advertising.
MenuHelper.in does not control the cookies placed by Google AdSense and does not have access to the data collected by Google for advertising purposes. All advertising data collected by Google is governed by Google's Privacy Policy.
You may opt out of personalised advertising by Google by visiting Google Ad Settings. Alternatively, you may opt out of third-party vendor use of cookies for personalised advertising by visiting aboutads.info (US/global) or youronlinechoices.eu (EU).
5 Google Analytics
We use Google Analytics, a web analytics service provided by Google LLC, to understand how visitors use our website. Google Analytics collects information such as pages visited, session duration, traffic source, device type, and approximate geographic location. This information is used in aggregate to improve the website's content and user experience.
We have enabled IP anonymisation in our Google Analytics configuration. This means the last octet of your IP address is masked before any data is stored by Google, so your precise IP address is not retained.
Google Analytics data is processed and stored by Google on servers that may be located outside India, including in the United States. Google LLC participates in the EU-U.S. Data Privacy Framework and provides appropriate safeguards for international data transfers. For more information, see Google's Privacy Policy.
You may opt out of Google Analytics tracking across all websites by installing the Google Analytics Opt-out Browser Add-on.
6 How We Use the Information We Collect
We use the limited information available to us for the following purposes:
- Website analytics: To understand aggregate traffic patterns, identify popular content, and improve the user experience on MenuHelper.in.
- Advertising: To enable Google AdSense to display relevant advertisements and generate revenue that supports the continued operation of this free tool.
- Responding to enquiries: To reply to emails sent by users to our contact address.
- Legal compliance: To meet our obligations under applicable Indian and international law.
We do not use any data collected in connection with MenuHelper.in for profiling individual users, building user databases, or any form of direct marketing without explicit prior consent.
7 Data Sharing and Disclosure
We do not sell, trade, rent, or otherwise transfer your personal information to third parties, except in the following limited circumstances:
- Third-party service providers: Google LLC, in its capacity as provider of Google Analytics and Google AdSense, receives anonymised or aggregated data as described in Sections 4 and 5 above. Google processes this data under its own privacy policy and the applicable data processing agreements.
- Legal obligations: We may disclose information if required to do so by law or in good-faith belief that such action is necessary to comply with applicable legal requirements, judicial proceedings, court orders, or governmental requests, including those issued under the Information Technology Act, 2000 or the rules made thereunder.
- Protection of rights: We may disclose information where we believe it is necessary to investigate, prevent, or take action regarding illegal activities, suspected fraud, or situations involving potential threats to the safety of any person.
8 Data Retention
Because MenuHelper.in does not collect personal data through its calculator tools and does not maintain user accounts, we hold no personal data requiring a formal retention schedule in respect of those functions.
If you contact us by email, we will retain your email address and the content of the communication for as long as is necessary to respond to your enquiry and for a reasonable period thereafter for record-keeping purposes, not exceeding 12 months unless a longer retention period is required by law.
Anonymised and aggregated analytics data retained by Google Analytics is subject to Google's data retention settings, which we have configured to the minimum available period of 14 months.
9 Third-Party Links
MenuHelper.in may contain links to external websites, including references to official platform documentation for Swiggy, Zomato, and other services. These links are provided for informational convenience only. We have no control over the content, privacy policies, or practices of any third-party website, and we accept no responsibility or liability for those sites.
We encourage you to review the privacy policy of any external website you visit before providing personal information to it.
10 Children's Privacy
MenuHelper.in is a professional business tool intended for use by adults. We do not knowingly collect personal information from individuals under the age of 18. If we become aware that we have inadvertently collected personal data from a minor, we will take prompt steps to delete such information. If you believe we may have collected information from or about a child, please contact us immediately at rajd3557@gmail.com.
11 Your Rights
Depending on your location and applicable law, you may have the following rights in relation to any personal data we hold about you:
- Right to access: You may request confirmation of whether we hold personal data about you and, if so, a copy of that data.
- Right to correction: You may request that inaccurate personal data be corrected.
- Right to deletion: You may request that we delete personal data we hold about you, subject to any applicable legal obligations to retain it.
- Right to restrict processing: You may request that we limit the way we use your personal data.
- Right to withdraw consent: Where processing is based on consent, you may withdraw that consent at any time without affecting the lawfulness of prior processing.
- Right to object: You may object to the processing of your personal data in certain circumstances.
To exercise any of these rights, please contact us at rajd3557@gmail.com. We will respond to all valid requests within 30 days. Given the limited personal data we collect, we anticipate that most such requests will be simple to resolve.
12 Compliance with Indian IT Laws
MenuHelper.in operates in compliance with the Information Technology Act, 2000 (IT Act) and the Information Technology (Reasonable Security Practices and Procedures and Sensitive Personal Data or Information) Rules, 2011 (SPDI Rules).
Under Rule 4 of the SPDI Rules, this Privacy Policy constitutes our published privacy policy and is made available at all times on our website. We do not collect Sensitive Personal Data or Information (SPDI) as defined under Rule 3 of the SPDI Rules, which includes passwords, financial information, health data, sexual orientation, biometric data, or similar categories. All financial figures entered into MenuHelper's calculators are processed locally in your browser and are not transmitted to or stored by us.
Any grievances regarding this Privacy Policy or the handling of your information may be addressed to our Grievance Officer:
Grievance Officer: Rajdip Roy
Website: MenuHelper.in
Email: rajd3557@gmail.com
Response timeframe: We will acknowledge grievances within 24 hours and resolve them within 30 days, in accordance with the IT Act.
13 GDPR — Additional Rights for EEA and UK Users
If you are located in the European Economic Area (EEA) or the United Kingdom, the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) or UK GDPR may apply to our processing of your data. In that case, the following additional information applies.
Legal Basis for Processing
Where GDPR applies, our legal basis for processing data collected via Google Analytics is our legitimate interest in understanding how our website is used in order to improve it. Our legal basis for the operation of Google AdSense is consent, which you provide by continuing to use the website with cookies enabled, and which you may withdraw at any time via your browser cookie settings or the opt-out mechanisms described in Section 4.
International Data Transfers
Data processed by Google Analytics and Google AdSense may be transferred to and processed in the United States. Google LLC relies on Standard Contractual Clauses and its participation in the EU-U.S. Data Privacy Framework as the legal mechanism for such transfers. We have no control over the specific data transfer mechanisms used by Google.
Right to Lodge a Complaint
EEA users have the right to lodge a complaint with the data protection supervisory authority in their member state if they believe their rights under the GDPR have been infringed. UK users may contact the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO) at ico.org.uk.
14 Security
MenuHelper.in is served over HTTPS, which encrypts the connection between your browser and our web server, protecting data in transit from interception. Because our calculator tools do not transmit input data to any server, the primary security risk associated with calculator usage — unauthorised access to stored financial data — does not apply.
For email correspondence, please be aware that email as a medium is not inherently secure. We recommend that you do not transmit sensitive personal or financial information via email to any address.
While we take reasonable steps to protect any information we do hold, no method of transmission over the internet is 100% secure. We cannot guarantee absolute security, and we disclaim liability for breaches that are beyond our reasonable control.
15 Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect changes in our practices, technology, legal requirements, or other factors. When we make material changes, we will update the "Last Updated" date at the top of this page. We encourage you to review this Policy periodically.
Your continued use of MenuHelper.in after any changes to this Policy constitutes your acceptance of the revised Policy. If you disagree with the revised terms, you should discontinue use of the website.
